Sadhanapada – A Journey of Life Time

First Visit

On June 15th 2021 I went to Isha Yoga Centre for the first time to attend a 7-month long program called Sadhanapada. A program, extensively based on Yoga, Seva, Meditation and Internal Growth. This program changed the view of my life.

Since I was initiated into inner engineering in 2016, I wanted to go to Isha Yoga Centre but couldn’t go because of many reasons. But this time I took a leap and grabbed the opportunity. I had to leave my job and hear lot of backstabbing but I managed to reach the ashram for the program.

All my life I was a dumbass introvert persona because of which I was restrained to experiment new things. But when you come across the so-called bigger picture the miraculous Sadhguru, you wouldn’t want to mess up with anything and with his grace I could make few good-hearted friends whom I could accommodate in my bigger family.

So, this program starts with an orientation program and the content of this 5 days program was surprising to me. And on the occasion of Guru Purnima, we were officially called the “Sadhanapada participants”

Every year during Guru Purnima Sadhguru keeps a satsang and take us through meditation. But this time due to pandemic I was not fortunate to get the opportunity and we could avail only online darshan. But when he arrived near the hall for the event he went from my side and that sight of him made me crazy for him, he was joining hands and saying Namaskaram to everyone he comes across. and he saw me and did the same. Finished. I was lost then and there. Just like a magic I felt the energy.

Start

So during Sadhanapada we must wakeup early by 4.30 am and by 5.30am we have to start our practices with guru pooja. So, in My initial months, I was doing my early morning practices without fail. But after a month due to my skin problems and health issue I was not able to do my practices early in the morning. But whatever hurdles came I made sure I never miss my Shamabhavi Mahamudra practice even once.

The beautiful thing about being in this type of energy space is if you give totally into it, many things change within you and you start seeing life in a beautiful way. For understanding this you must at least perform one yogic practice which you have been initiated into and most importantly you must not be judgmental.

So, when this was going on the Sadhanapada team asked me to perform Guru Pooja in our practice area not daily but they used to call me on intervals. So the Gopi Anna who was the coordinator assigned me guru Pooja coincidentally only on days which were special like Sadhguru’s birthday, Pournami’s etc. When he used to call or come to me saying that I have to do guru pooja the previous day I would say no but he will say Sadhguru wants so you do. And truly it was his grace.

MID

When I was in ashram, temple was not a daily thing because most of the time, we have to run to perform Seva(volunteering) and are busy. So, whenever I get a gap, I used to go and visit. And in the initial phase of my Sadhanapada the temples would be closed for the outsider on Friday, Saturday and Sunday so those time I used to sit for longer periods in Dhyanlinga as the temple will be still and silent.

During this time, we were advised to eat our meals only twice a day… but my compulsion was such that I have even visited the famous “Pepper Vine” restaurant to calm my taste buds… but tried to control on a later stage.

This was also the time when we had to undergo through various advance program like Anna Seva (only for Sadhanapada participants), BSP and Shoonya, which was a different experience altogether (If I want to share the experience, please comment below I will do it in my next post). I did my first fast during Ekadashi in the ashram which was tough and during Ekadashi we had to go for pradikshna from Dhyanlinga to Adiyogi statue and back to Dhyanlinga. But due to my skin issue I did the pradikshna till my extent possible.

During these days in the ashram, I made sure that I come in touch with earth and because of my companions who made me go on the grass without footwear I experienced Soil in a totally different way. Also, the best aspect of being in ashram was that I ended the 2021 year with a Sadhguru darshan and Nada Aradhana – a Sound offering in Dhyanlinga temple.

END

The last months with the preparation of Mahashivratri particularly being in the Devi Procession was the best part. Definitely I had the skin issue, but I kept all my excuses away just for Devi and Sadhguru which really led to a change. If you have kept yourself away from your ideas and prejudice you will experience the grace.

All the pains and suffering will transform in love and bliss. The kind of love and bonding with people who were there with me in my surrounding was indefinite. I stopped thinking what they will think if I act crazy, and in return we all become crazy and stable bunch of people.

And the best part of whole journey was serving in Bhiksha hall, Sadhguru darshans, Velliangiri Yatra ( Southern Kailash) and Mahashivratri. When I was there in the ashram, I had these wonderful opportunities to be with Sadhguru. But his presence for me is there whether he is physically there or not.

When it was time to leave, we all became very desperate and sad. Not able to control our tears as by the end of the program we all united and gelled up so well. And the last few days I spent my whole time in Devi and Dhyanlinga temple.

Mahashivratri was insane thing, from carrying Devi and dancing and a night fully covered with sand and dancing whole night with sadguru staying awake and dance like there is no other tomorrow…

These 7 months was a ride from intensity, pain, bliss, love and devotion. Frankly I don’t know what had changed but something within me is transformed; the way I approach the life now is totally different.

Sadhanapada

Thousands of seekers

Came into his lap,

Some to find answers,

Some to find their path,

Some to get clarity,

Some to get dissolved,

And so on,

But when he opened up the doors,

All became one,

Which left them into the raptures of ecstasy and bliss,

How to say Sadhanapada is over,

When it has just begun for us.

Feminine

What’s feminine? Why is it so significant?

When life grows, it’s through feminine only, let it be your spiritual process or your material success if you haven’t experience the feminine then it won’t be an easy ride. In India there are many temples of Devi. Especially in South India, when you go to these temple you will hear the word “AMMA” more in these devi temple, as the word Amma signifies Mother.

Being feminine is not about the body it’s about how you experience life, are you more into the materiality like food, sex etc. or are you looking life beyond this. You can be masculine by body but you experience feminine within you, it’s not that you are becoming female or something. But it’s about experiencing subtle aspects of life which the whole world is ignorant of. When you start experiencing feminine your hidden talents comes out you become a painter, writer, singer or something you haven’t ever thought of.

In India there are various goddesses to whom you can go for help and definitely once you approach them with an inner sanctity then you won’t miss feminine. Personally to me feminine worship has been the significant aspect in my life. Once it touched me, things just changed. There are many stories regarding how just feminine worship has made a person so successful in life without them even asking anything.

Definitely as a life you can’t live without touching feminine either as a spiritual process or having someone beside you whom you love. If you happen to hate feminine you will be a very earthy person as a life.

Feminine

The breeze that flows upon you refreshing you is feminine,

The tree grows defying the laws of gravitation is feminine,

The breathe which goes inside and makes life happen is feminine,

Oh Fool,

Don’t you think that you can live without touching feminine,

To experience feminine you have to break your boundaries.

Devotion

Devotion has been the core part of Indian culture. People like Ramanujan, Poet Kalidas, Swami Vivekanand and many more where the ardent devotees. Which became successful not only in their career but in life itself.

When you are in devotion ‘you’ don’t exist then the object of devotion becomes a huge part of you. Object of devotion can be your Guru, God, Work or just life.

Devotion is the sweetest way to live. Because in devotion everything becomes sweet. But to be a devotee you must be like a child not judging each and every person you encounter. You must pull of the plug from the likes and dislike. If you are like this something bigger than you will take care of you.

There are numerous stories of bhakti (devotion) where the god came to rescue for the devotee in their hard times. For example:

Poosalar was a sage who lived in a town in South India. The king of that area was building a huge Shiva temple. After many years of work, the temple was nearing completion. The night before the opening ceremony of the temple, which was the king’s lifetime’s ambition, Shiva appeared in his dream and said, “I will not be able to come to your temple’s inauguration because Poosalar has built another temple in the same town. I need to go there. He is also opening it tomorrow.”

The king woke up with a fright, because after he has strived to build this temple for so many years, after so much money and effort, Shiva says he has to go to some other temple built by Poosalar in the same town. “Who is this Poosalar and which is this temple that I do not know about?” He went searching for Poosalar.

After a lot of searching, they found Poosalar, a cobbler by profession, in a small hut. In those days, being a cobbler was a profession that was looked down upon. The king went and asked him, “Where is your temple? Shiva says he is going to go to your temple, not mine. Where is it?” Poosalar said, “I just built it in my mind.”

Every brick, every stone, he slowly built it for many years in his mind, and that is more of a reality than what you build with stone and brick.

So this is the power of devotion.Be in devotion and let life happen to you more intensely

A gift that I gave to myself…

Inner engineering, which changed my life totally

Namaskaram Everyone,

My self Ritesh Shenoy from Mumbai I did my Inner engineering in September 2016 the day I stepped onto the step to change my life.

So I had written My experience of inner engineering last time also. But I didn’t wrote everything in it so thought of writing it elaborately.

I am born in a Middle class family and when I was 6 years of age Chicken Pox invaded my body and made me suffer my whole of Childhood and Teenage. The Chicken Pox brought the allergy with it and from birth my ability to understand and articulate something was weak and also I could not understand many things in the world except martial arts movie (Bruce Lee is my favorite).

This was the most toughest thing as a child I went through to understand the life what is happening around me and why it is happening. Many questions in my head but I could not speak up. I was bullied, teased, I consumed lots of medicine etc.

So I started searching for happiness in the world.

The first thing I saw was people who were having girlfriend were quite happy so I tried to get myself a girlfriend and it was a bad idea. Because there is one thing I saw which I was unaware of is the breakup and when I saw the amount of suffering the people go through the break up made me not to approach anyone (hahahahaha).

Then another thing I got attracted to solace myself was drinks, smoke and drugs. As I grew up, i thought of trying this and side by side I was having my health medication also. So the time came when I went study out of station to study.

In the name of study I tried many things to solace my suffering of my past but everything just maximized my suffering and made me take drastic steps that is to jump to end the life. But when I was about to do something within me said don’t do it and I got down.

So after failing every attempt of bringing happiness to myself and I returned Back to home dropping the education that I was doing. So I started seeing for the videos where I could my suffering little. So started doing the Om meditations from the YouTube which was a hour long but I couldn’t sit for a minute.

So after searching long enough i started searching the meaning of meditation and how it can be used. So during the search there came the first video of some white bearded guy (A typical Indian yogi) from my childhood I didn’t believed an yogi or baba but this one intrigued me.

His English was so amazing and the logical explanation of life i started to search about him more. So i realized that after enough searching that he offers yoga programs and many people have got many health benefit and over came through stress problems (which i was going through). And so i enrolled for the first basic program called as Inner Engineering the name itself attracted me.

It is a 7 day program (I will provide the link of the program down) this was a turning point in my life.

In that program there is 21-minute meditation called Sambhavi Mahamudra kriya has been thought and after practicing it for 4 months my whole suffering went away, Addictions went away and my medication came down drastically. I started to express myself more joyfully, my speech and pronunciation became fluent. And the important thing I understood life in a different way.

Inner Engineering is a gift that i gave to myself and through my guru’s grace many things have changed in my life.

Lastly I would like to say that whoever is going through depression or stressed out or anything. If you want to know the joy of life you have to turn inward and this is the best tool.

My life before and after inner engineering.

From my childhood my health was not good. The health problems were ranging from health issues to unable to speak any language fluently till not understanding things clearly. With many questions in my mind about life and death I wandered around.

It was year 2015, where I tried many things (smoking, drinking and marijuana ) to get out of that depression and stress from failing in exams and not knowing the answers to my questions as the year came to end, my health and education was getting even more worse. Then one day I thought of ending everything in one go. Just by jumping from the 4th floor of the building where I was staying. But something within me just stopped me. From that day onwards I searched for the methods to get out of this depression and stress on YouTube. But was not successful.

In the year 2016, I saw Sadhguru in a YouTube video where he spoke about inner engineering. And unlike other babas or sadhus what he said made sense to me. He just explained what is meditation and what he is offering to us through the program called inner engineering. After much research I then enrolled for the program in my locality just to see whether it does anything to my situation.

Inner engineering

After doing this program within a month or so I was feeling light and my health issues started fading away. Now I am way better and healthy with only minor issues left, my ability to speak clearly has improved and I left drinking and smoking up which brought a new energy in me. It is beautiful to be happy and energetic the whole day. No drinks and no marijuana can compete with this Inner engineering program. Sadhguru to me is a person which brought a new sense of life in me. His methods gave me my life back which I lost long back.

Inner Engineering is an opportunity to engineer an inner transformation that deepens your perception, bringing about a dimensional shift in the very way you look at your life, your work and the world in which you exist. It is offered as an intensive program for personal growth and establishes the possibility of exploring the higher dimensions of life, in addition to optimizing health and success.

Inner Engineering is a technology for well-being derived from the ancient science of yoga. For those seeking professional and personal excellence, this program offers key to meaningful and fulfilling relationships at work, at home, in the community and most importantly, within yourself. By fostering an understanding of your inner self, this program empowers you to handle the hectic pace of modern life with ease, experience life to the fullest and fulfill your potential – a potential modern physicists and psychologists say is almost unlimited.

This program includes the Shambavi Mahamudra Kriya, a 21-minute yoga practice of immeasurable transformative power and antiquity that Sadhguru has brought to the modern world. Shambhavi Mahamudra Kriya brings your entire system into alignment so that your body, mind, emotions and energies function in harmony. It is now practiced by millions worldwide.

FULL MOON

Full moon or Pournami (purnima) as said in India, has been very significant in many cultures all around the globe. Each and every position of the moon has an impact in us, humans and nature.

As said in this poem because of the full moon, the forest became more alive. The effect of full moon can be seen perfectly in water bodies for example, oceans becomes furious. And as the human body contains 60% of water the changes also occur in us, humans.

The significant change that happen on a human body was on Gautama Buddha and that day, every year is celebrated as Buddha purnima in various countries.

Intoxication or soma is the nature of moon. On the full moon night, immerse yourself in the grace of  the moonlight, to be inebriated with fullness of life.
